WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item level upgrade by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the item upgrader kit being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item level Upgrade at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Another notable modification is that crests have one use, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
