The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.

1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its greatest advancement is an obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste many other robots are unable to avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of the object it comes across to let you know to stay clear of it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It removes dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t would like. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off with your voice.

The design is also more appealing than the competition. It features a sleek, high-end piece that appears like a toy rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties, which is great for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, rather than scattering it around the floor. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand, which most other robots can't. It did this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.

The j7+, while not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot and cannot clean the stairs, it's a good option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic hoovers cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, Vacuums Robot and sometimes it's hard to determine whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be a hybrid. This type of robot typically has a built-in water tank that allows them to mop and vacuum your home at the same time. They also come with various additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. The negative is that they can be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock produces some of our most loved robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't fail to impress. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it might not have some of the more expensive features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent option when you're willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it a great choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is a area where most robot sweeper vacuums of lower quality do not excel in. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps on walls and corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas and modify your home map or re-label rooms.

If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It comes with a huge LCD screen that is very useful in setting up schedules and altering settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, however it can help you easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly smart in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and features are some of the best vacuums on the market - but it's also pricey.

It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren’t as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It can't navigate stairs as well as competitors, either, and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

Although it doesn't provide the same amount of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those seeking a great all-round mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the higher price price.

If you're looking to cut costs or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options on the market. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides a similar in-app experience with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

The sleek G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better built, incurs lower recurring expenses, charges faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It has a larger dust bin that doesn't require as much emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
