It's also recommended to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it started. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous usage. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot using voice or through the app.

In our tests, the i7+ was more agile and faster than our runner-up which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. We were able, once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, top rated robot vacuum but it also fits nicely on a coffee table or on a bookshelf where you can wave it around like the magic device.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces power without fading for 60 minutes. Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't as sturdy, and frequently is power-depleted before making it back to its base.
